Misleading Trustpilot Review
There is a problem with Hotter Shoes reviews.
Hotter reviews are represented on two different Trustpilot reviews (Hotter.com & Hottershoes.com) but both sets of Trustpilot reviews relate to the same company and products.
This is very confusing for consumers because currently Hotter.com scores 71% as excellent and Hottershoes.com scores 71% as poor or bad.
No Longer suitable
Unfortunately although I have bought Hotter Shoes for years they no longer cater for people with wider fittings i.e. EEE only available in a few styles which are not really suitable for people with wider feet. Also the style sugar which is the only shoes suitable for people with a wide foot and toe problems ( it is completely smooth at the front) and which I have had several pairs of over the years no longer does an EEE. Wont be buying any more of their shoes.
Rude old lady in Reading’s Broad Street branch
An old lady in Reading’s Broad Street branch is extremely rude. She shouted at me to not take photos and made everyone looked. She said she has already told me not to, but I didn’t heard her saying that. I’m not responsible for her Alzheimer’s disease. This happened around 3 years ago, but I will keep making this comment whenever I see reviews for Hotters.
Refunds take 21 days..what are they doing with our money?
I ordered quite a few pairs of shoes to try, costing £299 on my credit card. Retirned them all as far too slim for my feet. It took two weeks to get them picked up (they charge for returns) and will now be another 21 days to get the money back according to the rude customer service lady i spoke to.
So not only do they have mine, and no doubt many people’s money, earning interest for 21 days or more, I will have to pay it my credit card as it takes so long to get a refund.
There has to be something dodgy about keeping people’s money so long. Even when they acknowledge your return they say it will take another 14 days. Outrageous. Wont ever use or recommend again.
Disintegrating Soles
Sold two pairs of Hotter shoes belonging to my mother on EBay as she cannot wear them anymore. Both were almost new and looked immaculate with soles hardly worn. Both buyers complained that the soles had disintegrated within two days of being used and I had to refund them. Both confirmed that they received the shoes in perfect condition.
There is something seriously wrong with the manufacture of these as shoes should not just crumble like this.
They are just not “fit for purpose” in accordance with consumer legislation.
I don’t have the receipts or shoes so can’t return them to Hotter but will be reporting it to Consumer Direct.
I visited your Bath store on 13th…
I visited your Bath store on 13th November 2018 having visited the lovely historic city as part of a birthday treat. I called at the shop to buy some natasha shoes which they didnt have in stock and i am still waiting for them to be delivered as i payed for them. The shop assistant was a larger lady with long hair. She was very rudecand dismissive of me . I offrred my email address so hotter could communicate with me and she said it wasnt needed. Her attitude was horrible. I didnt mention this but my husband brought up the subject later on that evening. Its not like i was buying a packet of crisps i wasin the process of buying an expensive pair of shoes.
I am awaiting my natasha shoes which i love and this will be my fourth pair. This shop assistant should work somewhere else if shes not happy. The shop wasnt busy.
Disappointed
I’ve bought so many shoes, boots and slippers that I’ve lost count of the number and always been completely happy either with the product or when I’ve had to return items to the Hotter store in Cardiff. However I ordered a pair of boots on-line today quoting the Black Friday code for a 25% discount and ticked the free standard delivery box only to find after making the payment that I had been charged £4.95 postage. I immediately rang Hotter and was told that Black Friday offers were free delivery only if the cost was over £80. Therefore the 25% discount is only 75p better than the usual 20% offer. This was not made clear on the website.

Not cheap but
Not cheap, but they last more than a few mths, some I'm wearing for the second yr, and they have delayed me needing a foot operation for arthritis, bone spurs, and toe realignment, and with they're brill soles Achilles tendinitis is less often now, to avoid the expense I tend to bulk buy twice a yr in the sales, and with a guarantee of 90 days exchange or refund I'm happy, and so are my feet.
Don’t buy seconds or samples
Bought a pair of sandals from the Gretna green outlet seconds or samples sale. When I finally got the sandals back home to Australia, I found them unwearable as the elastic over the front of the sandal had come apart. So, paid for a pair of sandals that I cannot wear. Contacted hotter UK, who are denying responsibility l also as I am in Australia, bad luck! If this company was in Australia my customer rights would allow me a refund, but as they are in the UK, bad luck.
Again!
Customer service appears to be zero in the UK.....

Faulty Insoles
I bought these shoes back in April and then put away until October so have probably worn them less than 40 days but unfortunately out of 90 day warranty.
The insole on one shoe comes out every time I take my foot out. I have complained to Hotter but they say it is the shoes design and it is meant to come out. I find this a ridiculous statement, I have bought expensive and cheap shoes and never experienced this problem. I pity any old person who purchases them as they would not be able to bend to keep replacing. When I complained in the shop it was suggested I glued the sole in. So if you use Hotter expect to pay a lot of money for an inferior product and to be advised to glue the sole in!!

Don't know the meaning of 'wide fit'
Have tried buying footwear from Hotter twice now as I have wide feet and thought they would be the ideal place to buy from. Should have learned my lesson the first time when I tried to buy so called wide fit boots online. On unpacking, I could see straight away that they looked nothing like a wide fit and needless to say, would not go on my feet. I have now tried buying trainers in a wide fit as they looked just the style I'd been looking for. Once again on arrival, they actually looked quite narrow and there is nothing on the label to say they are wide fit. If you genuinely need a wide fit, don't buy from Hotter.

Hotter is selling your data
Hotter USA is not making their money selling shoes. Rather, they are selling your information. Since making an online purchase for an elderly neighbor a few months ago, I have received scores of catalogs I never requested. Since the merchandise in these catalogs is geared towards seniors & are completely unrelated to any thing I have recently purchased online, I can safely deduce that Hotter is the source of this immediate uptick in junk mail.
Oh dear
Oh dear! I have returned shoes on 2 occasions to the Kingston on Thames store and both times the staff have been very off hand. On the 1st visit the manageress wouldn't give me any kind of receipt for 2 pairs of shoes returned. I had to insist that she at least signed my order form. My 2nd visit was unsuccessful as I didn't bring my credit card for the refund. "I didn't need it for the last refund " I protested at which point they told me that I did!
I called head office there & then (long wait) & was told that I didn't need the card last time because I used Amex. This time I used MC & so I had to produce the card!
There is no mention of this faff on the order form which states that you just bring in the shoes & order form! Simples!
What a waste of time. I remarked that the lesson was not to buy anymore Hotter shoes & the assistant replied that the lesson was to bring in your credit card! Can they get any ruder??
Avoid!

Long wait for a refund
I ordered two pairs of shoes online on 12 July 18. They arrived on 17 July and I returned them on 18 July 18 by Hermes. On the same day I returned a parcel to another retailer. I phoned Hotter Shoes today, 9 August, as I have still not received a refund.
They refunded my credit card on 6 August. The other retailer refunded me on 24 July. So Hotter took almost two weeks longer! The Hotter Customer Service operator said to allow 21 days for a refund but I cannot find this mentioned anywhere on their website: of course it could be buried in the T&Cs. Ironically they ask you to return items within 14 days at sale times.
In this day and age of internet trading this is poor service!
Beware if you return anything that it could be more than three weeks allowing for card processing before you get your money back even if you act promptly.
Poor service
Order placed and paid for by my 81 year old mother. Shoes to come in 10 days. 27 days later and 5 phone calls eventually got order cancelled and money to be refunded... WATCH THIS SPACE. Shop staff, although nice, expected my mother to complete a 3 hour round trip to get her money back, at 81 years and our expense..... I don't think so! Very poor service.they were unable to give me a number for head office or for anyone to help so Google had better information and i spoke to a young man has hopefully sorted out the issues. Disgusted
